The Grass Is Greener…Or Not

Table of Contents

The first half of this year I took a kind of sabbatical. I wasn’t feeling inspired or clear on what I wanted to be doing in my work. On top of that, I needed to get my health in order.

After six months of minimal work and focusing on health and family I started to feel a ping to create something. I didn’t want to overcommit myself or to jump into anything too fast, so I just began to have conversations with other business owners in my network.

I wasn’t looking for anything other than seeing what opportunities arose from these conversations. These conversations plus getting some invaluable coaching from my mindset coach, led me to clarity on what I actually needed to do to feel my fire again.

I had to make some changes within our business. The details aren’t important, but I can tell you that as soon as I made these changes I came alive again. I realized that cutting away things was something I had been ignoring in the business.

But what I also realized, as I had some deeper conversations with Jay, is that while I can still explore outside of the business we built, there is so much opportunity for us in this business.

I began to think about how no one, that I am aware of, is helping online businesses with their client experience like we are. This lit my fire even more and Jay and I created two new offers that we feel are going to allow us to serve many more business owners and client success teams in our industry.

And The Point Is…

So, what’s the point?

I think for many owners, like myself, it is hard to take time and create space to reflect. We can get so focused on growing all the time that we forget to slow down and really analyze what we are doing, where we are going, and if that is what we really want.

Slowing down is so necessary for growth. Otherwise, you can find yourself years down the road in a place that you never wanted to be. But, the reason you are there is because you only focused on growth and didn’t focus on what was actually most important for you.

Blessings,

Ben
